General Introduction to UN Trade Point Beijing

UN Trade Point Beijing (TP Beijing) grew out of an innovative programme called 'Global Trade Point Network' of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and was officially set up in October 1995 with the authorization and approval of China Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and Beijing Municipal Government. In 2000, TP Beijing became an official member of World Trade Point Federation (WTPF). TP Beijing is a professional organization providing information services and aiding Beijing import and export enterprises in trade promotion activities.

In November 2004, Director of UN Trade Point Beijing, Mr. Deng Hongbo, met with Mr. Bruno Maiser, President of World Trade Point Federation (WTPF)	In October 2004, Madam Benedicte Fleischer, Counsellor of Royal Norwegian Embassy visited UN TP Beijing

 

Responsibilities

To provide information and network services for the development of Beijing based foreign economic and trade enterprises and institutions;

To assist Beijing municipal government departments to develop trade promotion activities;

To research and edit economic and trade information on trade development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Main Businesses

Global enterprises database construction, maintenance, operation and application;

Construction and maintenance of the SME website, available both in Chinese and English;

To hold 'Foreign Economic and Trade Lecture Room', foreign market introduction meetings, Chinese-foreign cooperation seminars and exhibition activities, to develop economic and trade cooperation and exchange and training of trade promotion;

To do research in economic and trade subjects, edit "Common Information Manual of Beijing Imp. & Exp. Business".

Credo

Increase trade opportunity, lower trade costs, raise trade efficiency. 

Objectives

Set up an information service platform for the trade development of Beijing SME, and become the service center of Beijing trade Promotion.
